Iberia Express celebrates its anniversary with flights at 5 euros

Iberia Express's low cost subsidiary airline, Iberia Express , celebrates its fifth anniversary in a big way, offering 5,000 seats, at 5 € each way, in the next 48 hours. The CEO of the company, Fernando Candela , stressed that throughout this five-year period they have consolidated themselves as a "profitable and efficient company capable of competing one-on-one with other low-cost operators" . Since its creation, on March 25, 2012, Iberia Express has transported more than 21 million passengers,  and for the third consecutive year it has achieved the classification of the most punctual low cost in the world , granted by the consultancy FlightStats . This company operates short and medium-haul routes, in addition to feeding Iberia's long distance network. Since 2012, it has operated some 16,000 flights in its network of some 40 destinations and has become the fourth operator of the Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas airport.
