MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The authorities of Saudi Arabia increased in 2017 by three thousand people, up to 23,500, the share of Russians who can make the pilgrimage to Mecca, said the deputy chairman of the Council of the Mufties of the Russian Federation, Rushan Abbiásov.

The Hajj is the fifth of the so-called pillars of Islam, every Muslim must make a pilgrimage at least once in his life to the city of Mecca, the pilgrimage is fulfilled in a certain period of the Muslim calendar, which in 2017 touches at the end of August .
